About

Sara Wheeler is a singer-songwriter, guitarist and pianist whose music blends acoustic folk, rock and luminous pop. Her songs pair an expressive voice with intricate guitar tunings, piano and honest storytelling.

Her musical journey has taken her from Boston to Europe and Japan, with performances at the Montreux Jazz Festival in Switzerland and recording with the London Session Orchestra at Abbey Road Studios. A longtime collaboration with Geneva-based producer and songwriter Toby May has remained an important part of that journey.

Sara is also the founder of Little Groove, bringing live music and movement to babies, toddlers and preschoolers throughout New England. Whether writing for adults or introducing children to their first instruments, connection is at the heart of her work.

Her latest adult album, Back Roads, was created with longtime collaborator Toby May.

Accolades

"Sara Wheeler is such a remarkable talent. She has a lovely lilting voice; she writes complex, textured songs; and she is an accomplished guitarist and pianist... She's able to inject an intensity to each vocal turn (especially on songs that push the emotional envelope)...without being overwrought or overly sentimental." (Ken Capobianco, Billboard)

"Trying to resist the ethereal allure of Sara Wheeler's luminous pop-rock would be like the oceans trying to escape their lunar pull." (Taylor Guitars)
